Girly Hair items. Fund raising
So these are the girly hair items that have been taking all of my time. I think I have done in excess of 50 pairs. Rebecca and I determined a price point of 2.00 a pair. They were a lot of work and I was thinking $3.00 but everyone I showed them to said they were worth $2.00. The cost of supplies was minimal and we'll call my time a wash.
My creative time throwback Thursday challenge
GOOD TO BE BACK!!!!
had time to squeeze in a challenge last night. Just about ready to call time of Death on the girly hair items that I have been putting together. Now Becca needs a poster for her fund raising booth. And mind you I have DONE NOTHING to get ready for my crop weekend away. I think I feel a couple of sick days coming on. This weekend is the last big push and as of right now the only thing I have to do it Pick up my brothers dog at the Kennel on Saturday am.
Anyway onto the challenge. Use any older cart of your choice and use green. This is what I came up with. I have been on a bender that an 8 x 8 sheet of card stock folded in half makes a lovely card that fits in a Business envelope. enjoy!

::::::: Sigh::::::::::
I am finding myself in withdrawal. I will not be participating in any upcoming challenges ( No creative exercise for me) I have be furiously working on projects for the upcoming Missions Market to help send my friend Rebecca to Haiti and New Orleans on Missions trips. She is giving up 2 weeks of her life ( one week in each place) busting her butt helping out others, no relaxing on the beach for her. It was about a year ago that I too went on my First Missions trip and unfortunately due to a schedule conflict I will not be able to go this year. Anyway I will be offering Becca, several different style book marks, Wine Charms, and the cards that I have done for challenges and Girly hair items. Becca is doing some Flower Pens (so silly cute) And Our friend Mellisa is doing cupcakes she can be found here http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1302686213#!/pages/Melissas-Cake-Creations/288361686437.
On a different note Em of Auntie Em did a video for us last weekend I just have to to edit and post it. So Stinkin cute.
I hope to post at the very least some Pictures of items done for the Missions market. And I am trying to talk Becca into doing a How to Video on the flower pens.
The items for the missons seems to involve a lot of trips to the craft store for items to just finish up..... Last nights shopping trip of $20.00 quickly turned into $40.00 when I purchased 3 more DCWV paper packs. I think I may try and sue them for Financial distress, but there papers are just SO AWESOME i can't say no.
Till next time.

365 Cards Challenge Day 14
One of the challange this week was to do 3 x 3 cards which I had never done or heard of but once I got going it was addictive. I think this week I might go on tag tear and do up some gift tags and see what happens again it's all about different items to sell at the missions market.
This challenge was Fresh Baked goodness. This 3 x 3 card was created using a rubber stamp and Ranger Perfect pearls to stamp it. Because the base card stock was a little slick and dark I added a liner to the inside of this gem.
365 Cards Challenge Day 20
365 Cards Challenge Day 16
The challenge was to be inspired by the abstract image. Using my Gypsy and the Gypsy Wanderings cart I selected the Butterfly and then turning off the ratio I distorted the image. I add some ribbon at the bottom. I loved the printed paper as that also looked rather abstract. I used some viva decor glitter liner in the corners just to spruce it up.

Belli Challange # 113
The challenge was to use the letter "c" embellishments chipboard crystal effects charms etc. I have a really hard time with this I want to create something totally different and spent a lot of time with ideas rolling around in my head. As abstract as this card is it took some time to create. I started with the creative memories circle maker and then cut a sliver and thought it to look like the letter C then I cut another and another our of different paper. the background is a dark blue with a flecked piece of vellum over it. I have yet to find an adhesive for vellum that I am happy with. I ended with this abstract design. I am still not sure what I think of it.
365 Cards Challenge Day 17
The Challenge was to use the advisement as inspiration. I cam up with this littel gem of a card. The green and white striped paper reminded me of the clean linear lines of the green and white in the ad. I added the black ribbon trim inspired by the black trim on the chair. The shamrock was cut using my cricut and was rescued from my my box of oppsies. You know the box you have that has all your cricut cuts that were too small or too large, Or you found a better paper or whatever. Please tell me I am not the only one who saves such things. ? Although now with the Gypsy I seem to have less of these.
365 Cards Challenge Day 15
The challenge was to use the following color scheme: Peach, black and green. I came up with this little 3 x 3 card. It features one of the Martha Stewart punches and the Creative Memories circle cutter. Stamps and ink from my stash. I love how this came out and it went together in no time. Actually I did a set of 6 all the same but all different.
Challenge Mojo Monday 182
The challenge was to use the sketch provided. I turned the sketch 90 degrees and this is what I came up with. I used the creative memories circle cutter and then decorative scissors on the outside of the bigger one. All the papers came from my stash as well as the rubber stamped sentiment.
I did this card while at a crop. I put the whole thing together except for the last last layer that had the sentiment on it. This way I did not have to lug all my stamps and inks. Just came home to the "playroom" took maybe 5 minutes to finish this card up, which was well worth not having to lug all the other things.

peachy Keen stamp challenge #47
The challenge was to use the sketch provided to come up with a creation. I came up with an 8 x 8 scrap book page. It seems on 2nd look part of the challenge was to add some Bling. I missed the boat on that, unless want to call the ribbon bling. I also enhanced the edges of the green paper with some liquid chalk. I used the creative memories circle cutting system to get my circles. In hind sight there is plenty of room to add bling but bling does not always work so well when placing pages in a book. None the less here is my take on the sketch.
Tuesday Throw down Challenge #40
The Challenge was to use lace somewhere on your card. Well let me tell you about this $80.00 card. So will some one explain to me how going into JoAnn Fabrics for $2.00 worth lace cost $80.00. I was doing so good at Keeping the Habit in check. But now I have 5 new paper pallets. cause anyone that knows me knows I have NO paper.... :) I think I am going to become that girl that Freezes her credit card in a block of ice to keep from using it. I got some great buys thou. 97c yes 97 cents for some stamp sets on close out. How can you say no to that? times 5.
So I kept this card simple. Used the cut out from the DCWV paper pallet ( forget which one something to with birds I think) This is a 6 x 6 card so I will have to make the corresponding matching envelope. I loved this lace cause you could add color by threading a color ribbon through it. ( I should have taken some more photos) This yard of lace was $1.49 a yard ( full price ) and I bought one yard. This card has about 8 inches or so on it. The paper that was in the Pallet would have baffled me were it not for all the time I spend blog hoping. Left on my own I would have never cut this paper up and used it on cards or as embellishments on scrapbook pages and yet that is exactly what it was designed for.
I have somewhat simplified my card making so that some of them can be sent off to Operation Write home ( http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/) essentially they collect hand made "blank" cards to send to service persons overseas for them to write/send back home to loved ones. See site for full details.
365 Cards Challenge Day 13
The challenge was to use the Sketch provided. I have started re thinking my card making. I do anywhere from 4-10 cards a week, More than I can use in a lifetime I think. I have planned on donating many of my cards to the Church Bizarre and to friend that is trying to raise money to go on a mission to Haiti. I have also started looking into Operation Write Home (http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/) The guidelines for card submission are pretty specific but all with good reason so I thought I might start making some cards to send to them. At any rate here is my take on the sketch. I took it pretty literal. It is a 6 x 6 card so I will have to make the envelope. I used the creative memories circle cutting system to get my circles and the cuttlebug folder on the green. The main background paper is from a new DCWV paper pack I just bought. I love love love their papers, such pretty papers and a nice thick quality stock.
till next time keep creating.

365 Cards Challenge Day 10
The challenge was Trendy. Well I see all this craze over digi stamps and so I used one. I colored in the images with a package of 99c colored pencils. I used a stamp from my stash with versa Mark and ranger Perfect pearls for the background. And some green striped paper with a shabby chic torn edge completed this card. I also enhanced this card with some stickels in pot of gold and some Sun shine yellow viva decor on the mug.
Jittbuggin Challenge
The challenge was to use Rainbows and Butterflies. This is a 6 inch square card. I embossed in white the sentiment Hello and used this great DCWV glitter paper. It was actually quite hard to get the cuts the way I did. I am happy with the way it came out. Sometimes Literal and simple can be quite cute. I enhanced the gold with some stickles. I used my Viva Decor pen to leave some trails behind the butter fly and the butterflies looked kind of plain so I added some faux stitching.
peachy Keen stamp challenge #11
The Challenge was called SEW Cute. Use Faux or real stitching. I used a little bit of both. The card base is a 6 x 6 sheet folded in half. The flower came from the Walk in my Garden cricut cart. I do not recall the specifics. I add some button to enhance the stitching a viola card challenge complete. I make is sound so simple but really it was like an hour process or maybe a little more.

Club Ruby Designers Challenge
Tuesday Throw down Challenge
The Challenge at tuesdaythrowdown.blogspot.com was to use up those scraps. The base is 3.5 x 10 but then the next biggest piece is 3 x 3 so I found this used up scraps pretty efficiently. I used a rubber stamp from my stash and embossed Birthday wishes on the front. A slit and a little piece of ribbon holds the card shut and the Rubber stamp sentiment on the inside. The rubber stamped image on the outside is enhanced with some colored pencils just to make it pop a bit as it looked a little lost on the pink paper.

Triple Tier Slider Card
There was a challenge here and the challenge was so see if I could follow directions. I did not have access to the video and so was working specifically with the written direction. I think I did pretty well. I would try it again before I try and teach it to my Bitch Craft club.
I just love Split coast Stampers. They have excellent directions and videos.

Jittbuggin Challenge
The Challenge was to make something with a Pig on it. Pretty Random if you ask me. However I came up with this gift bag. I used the Jubilee cart for the letters when pigs fly cut at 1.47. The pig came from the Toy Story cart cut at 5 inches and the Balloons were from Stretch your imagination cut at 5 inches. I used some craft embroidery thread from my stash for the balloon strings and crop a dile to make the holes. All and all I thought it came out pretty cute.

Flaunt it Fridays Challenge
The challenge was to use the Matchbox found on page 123 of Bags, tags, boxes and more. Color me confused when I sat down to start this project and could not for the life of me figure out the out side. After doing a You tube video search come to find out Part of the box is one one page and part of the box was on another page. Now this was making a little more sense. I recommend when trying to maximize the size of the box to cut the top (sleeve, outside what ever you want tot call it) First as it takes more paper, is actually larger. At any rate the biggest cut I could get on a 12 x 12 mat was 6.29. After I cut the initial box all I could see was a shadow box so I ran with it. The dragon fly was cut from doodle charms at 1.35. The grass was cut from Plantin School book and I used both the positives and the negatives cut from 2 different papers are 1.43 and 1.67. The tree was cut 3 times and manually layered (forget what cart that come from but it was cut at 3.24. And the Monkey was from Create a Critter at 3.0. Again my Gypsy was invaluable. Oh ya pop dots, pop dots and more pop dots gave this project some wonderful depth.
I was so bummed out that I came down sick and did not get this entered in time. I thought I would share it just the same.
