Summer Scrap book page

The simple titles on this page tie it together. I used the creative memories mini letter. Also used on this page was the new creative memories decorative blade that goes with the new paper trimmer.

Summer Scrap book page

I used a Martha Stewart punch on both side of a strip of paper to get the border on the right. I enhanced the edges with the Creative Memories chalking ink. The creative memories Victorian Corner rounder was used on the pictures

Summer Scrap book page

I double matted my pictures and used Thickers to spell out the name. Simple and straight forward design really brings the eye to the pictures.

Glass Etching

This was my First try at Glass Etching. I wanted to thank the neighbor for snowblowing the yard so I created this dish filled it with Whoppie Pies and sent it over.

As you can see you use the Mirror feature (or flip) when doing the lettering. It was fairly simple. this was only an 8 x 8 dish so it was not too bad. Much bigger would have been a lot tougher to lay out nice and flat. Although you can do it right away I did have some seepage so the next time I would let the vinyl set for about 24 hours before using the cream.

The scariest part is after the cream sits and you wash it off it looks like nothing happened..... Fear not as the cream drys is does "frost" over and become more prominent. Give it a try. A great way to get those dishes returned.

My creative time throwback Thursday challenge

I had the real size dial on to cut the image on the front of the card. It is tough to see but the background is embossed with the cuttlebug stone script folder.

Challenge Mojo Monday

I used DCWV Nanas Nursery Mat Stack. I cut the P.J. from the Everyday Paper Dolls are 1.71 inches, the Carriage was from designers Calendar It was a shift lock events setting and that was cut from 2 different papers and layered. The cut was at 1.71

And the circle was cut from the Creat a Critter Shift Lock shadow setting cut at 2.71 and 2.47

and judging by the sizes I give you can tell I used my Gypsy.

I used pop dots on the carriage and on the P.J.s

The little brads were the perfect touch to create the Faux cloths line using embroidery thread.

The sentiment was done with a stamp, versamark and Rangers Perfect Pearls.

I used a yellow and a green to ink the edge of the card. The bow was created with ribbon and embellished with a little jewel

Something Sweet for My Pink Stamper Challenge

The challenge from My Pink Stamper was so create something super sweet. I could not put my hands on the pictures. ( big surprise there)But every year the nieces and nephew and I go to the local church and create Gingerbread houses. Lets face it, it's all about the candy and frosting so the base house is made from cardboard and we just do the fun part of decorating. Any way you get the idea. So I created this layout using the paper kit was was Part of the Club Ruby December kit. I used white embossing on the sweet memories title and it kind of looks like sticky frosting fingers. A pretty quick layout once I got going.

Hint hint. be cautious when using your gypsy to create a lay out. Using different thickness of paper on the same mat can sometime bear frustrating results. If you are using 2 different thicknesses of paper best to create a layer on and a layer 2 so that you have the opportunity to adjust pressure and blade depth. If you are still having problems perhaps it is time for a new blade. I Don't think we realize just how much we use out cricuts.

Get well soon

My niece Emma fell and hurt her ankle real bad this is what I came up with.

I am awful at recipes, But I promise to try and so better in the future.

Paper Play time Challenge

http://www.paperplaytime.blogspot.com/

The Challenge was to make anything party related. well even though my beloved Patriots are not in the super bowl it is the Super Bowl none the less and they have worked hard to get there. So I used my Gypsy ( it has become like my right hand, I could never get along without it) and the Bags, Tags, boxes and more and cut the basic tag, I used Plantin School book for the letters and the Dress up Paper dolls for the football and Goal Posts. I inked the edge of the football and used a pop dot on that. The Zyron was great for working with the letter. It came together pretty quick.

Flaunt it Fridays Challenge

The challenge was to use the Give a Hoot cart and make something. Well because I did not have that cart I had to improvise. I used my Gypsy and found a watering can on the walk in my Garden cart. I cut it and then cut off the spout and handle and now I had the trash can. I embossed with the cuttlebug. I then used the Mouse from the create a critter cart and embellished with googly eyes. Used and eyelet and some ribbon and Viola he or she pops out of the trash can.

The sentiment on the outside cut with Plantin School reads Don't waste and the pull out reads A single day.

Get well Charlie / Jittbuggin Challenge

I designed most of the card with my Gypsy. I tried to use white glue type pen to adhere the flocking, Never try this always use your brayer to get a nice even full coverage layer of Glue for your flocking. I used a couple of different shades of brown in an attempt to give a more real look. Used Pop dots to adhere the puppy. The puppy was embellished with viva Decor pens. The eyes are some I had in my stash.

Sweets for my Sweet -- Pink Stamper

This was for Robyn over at My pink Stamper Challenge. I used an old coffee can and re-covered it in paper. I used the Cricut welding to make my borders and cut the circle for the top of the can and also the tag. I thought I would fill it with sweets for my Valentine.

Why you need to do Puzzles as a kid

So now I know why as a kid my mom had me do puzzles. It has come in very handy in my circuiting….. I was playing with the Best of Pixar last night to make a Birthday card for my Nephew ( will post picture later) , Let me just say that the books and layers have come a long long way. But it is very much like a puzzle when you have all these little pieces and need to find the same shape on the base layer. You know what they say you learn by doing. BTW thanks for the tip Megan on the 2 way glue on a pen tip, I used an orange stick from my Nail kit but same same.

Other things I learned last night. They need to make stickles and viva décor pens in a quick dry formula.

And finally can I just say I love love love my Gypsy. It is a huge time and paper saver. “set it and forget it” comes to mind. However, I have one suggestion: I would love it if Provo Craft would do an update that would identify the carts stored on the Gypsy as font carts or shape carts. And then if you searched for “font” it would show you all the different font samples that you have stored on your gypsy.

An those are my lessons from last night…

Play Dates

I am meeting with my Digital scrap book club tonight. I use that term loosely. Some of us play with Gypsy some of us just play and some of us just chat. So tonight I am going to sort some pictures, clean them up getting them ready to print. I down loaded a design Studio design from http://www.capadiadesign.com/2010/01/sweet-treat-thursdays-at-cuttlebug.html. I am going to see if I can get it into my Gypsy.

I got in a big order from Custom Crops this week with Glitter Mist, White glossy card stock, Stickles, Liquid pearls and the stuff to refurbish my mats. So some friends are coming over tomorrow to play with my new toys. Should be fun to share tips and techniques.

Next Saturday 1-22 I have a crop from 1-9pm so excited. And the following weekend a crop from 9-5. I will certainly have my creative fix. I also just made the deposit on my crop retreat weekend in April.

I love the inspiration I find on the blogs I follow and have a whole binder full of ideas, directions and pictures.

I also have to start working on some "stuff" for the Mission Market at our church. I am helping a friend raise money for her mission trip to Haiti. I have some great ideas in mind.

If you live local to Taunton, MA and want to know more about these crops, please contact me.

Summer Scrap Book Page

Here are the other half of the papers from the previous page. The "mats" were done using scraps. Trust me I throw nothing away. Page enhanced with Creative Memories Stickers.

Summer Scrap Book Page

Here again I used 1 sheet of printed paper cut and spread over 2 pages. The background is store bought Chocolate card stock. The title was done in Thickers. The left side is embellished by using tan floss wrapped around the page a couple of time.

Summer Scrap Book Page

This page is wrong !!!!! It does however feature the Creative Memories paper in the background and the corners were enhanced using a CM corner croper. The letters are store bought letters. Upon reviewing this page before mounting it in the book. I realized that the Pictures were McKenna and not Paynter.... Oppsie. How did I fix it you ask. Well the the letters had not been there long and so a using a combination of dental floss and one of the tools in my cricut tool kit I was able to get the letters off without too much damage to the paper. I then simply put in the correct name and laughed at myself.

Summer Scrap Book page

This page is a tribute to my Parents. This is a pre printed paper I picked up. The photo features rounded corners and is mounted pre-printed on Vellum.

Summer Scrap Book Page

On this page I used Brads and embroidary Floss to make the pictures look like they were hung. The Creative Memories Letter cutting system was used to make the title JILLY. And enhancements were made using the Viva Decor.

Summer Scrap Book Page

This page is a tribute to Sadie dog who passed on this fall, Therefore these pictures capture her last summer at the lake. I used the "inside" from the previous pages cut and mounted it in the upper left side. The title was done using common black letters. And the Oval at the bottom of the page is my journaling. This page certainly holds a special place in many hearts.

Summer Scrap Book Page

In order to get more milage from 1 sheet of printed paper: I took the Creative Memories Large Square cutting tool and cut the center out. This enabled me to use the "frame" part on one page and the Center cut on another page. This page features the "frame" part mounted on Chocolate card stock. I also cut the corners using the creative memories victorian Corner chomper. I introduced the use of embroidary floss. I Cut circles using the CM circle cutter and punched tiny holes to get the Dog tag look. In this way I was able to Identify each dog by name and the last names give some clue as to who what family the dog belongs to. Cause after all Dogs are fmaily members too.

Summer Scrap Book Page

This two page spread is largly done on white card stock. I was able to make the 1 sheet of double sided Blue / gold paper strech over 6 pages. The use of the this paper identified the theme through the 6 pages as having to do with the Treasure Hunt. I used Thickers as the title for my page. And serval Creative Memories cutting tools were used. I used the tearing tool with black card stock to mat my photos. The Creative Memories Star punch is also featured on this page. This pages features many ways to use up scraps. The Postive/negitive features in the lower corners of the spread. Store bought themed stickers were also used to fill in the white space and enhance this page.

Summer Scrap Book Page

Use ONE SHEET of a store Bought flag paper makes a 2 page spread. I cut the Flag paper and used it on a base Of white card stock. I used the SM Oval cutting system and Paper trimmer in matting my photos. Enhanced with some additional store bought stickers.

Summer Scrap Book Page

Here again I used the Creative Memories Letter cutting system along with the CM Primary Summer Power Pallet. I used the Ranger Perfect Pearls mixed with water and paint as directed and used a mini Mister to enhance the letters. It does not show in the picture nor in real life. I was largely disappointed in this technique. I have since learned other ways the perfect pearls can be used. I use them most in card making with the Perfect pearl pen when writing my sentiment. Watch for addtional posts on Rangers Perfect Pearls.

Summer Scrap Book page

Use of Creative Memories Primary Summer power Pallet on a store bought background. I used the just released CM letter cutting system to do the title of Big Shoes. I cut the letter and inked the edges. Several of these pages were done at a weekend crop away. It was nice to have the help and input of friends. I was leary of transporting my Circut therefore it was nice to have the CM letter cutting system along. It was a fraction of the price of cricut and a lot less stressful to transport.

Summer Scrap Book Page

Use of the Creative Memories Power Pallet on a background of store bought yellow card stock. A good way to get more "mileage" from your more expensive printed papers. Again enhansed with the Viva Decor pens, my new favorite tool at the time. Just be careful of drying times when usuing these pens. Hand written name tages identifying who is in the pictre is a time saver. Not every page has in incorporate every technique and tool you own. Plus your hand writing is as much of a legacy as the pictures.

Summer Scrap Book Page

Again I used the Creative Memories Primary Summer power Pallet and enhanced this page with the Viva Decor pens.

Summer Scrap book

This pages features Creative Memories Primary Summer power pallet. I used the Creative Memories Heart punch to make the edge of the sun. It is the botton half of several hearts in yellow with inked egdes and covered in a circle, make by using the CM ( Creative Memories ) circle cutting system. Used the CM tearing tool and enhamsed this page with Viva Decor Pens and Vellum sentiment.
